  1. The best for HIIT Classes

Posted by Jane Zien on Apr 27th 2017

I recently started teaching Strong by Zumba, a new HIIT class. I needed a shoe that would grip my foot and also the floor. I needed heal cushioning but also cushioning in the midsection. This shoe has it all, My foot is snug and doesn't slide around. So happy I found this shoe, and of course they look great!

  2. Love them

Cute, and as always, great support for my weak ankles. I love AVIA studio shoes :)

  3. Not the Old Avia

Posted by Jennifer on Feb 15th 2017

I have been teaching fitness classes for thirty years, and 98% of those classes were taught in Avias. They used to fit right out of the box and were so comfortable and supportive, I couldn't wait to slip them on and get to work. A few years ago, the company was sold. The old models were discontinued and I'm positive they are using a different last. I always wore my regular size (7 1/2) , but if you are ordering these, I'd actually order DOWN a half size. The fit is sloppy and, although well cushioned, the lacing system has no "slip" to it, so it is REALLY hard to get a good adjustment on them. I ended up tightening them up too much right at the ankle, which caused me to tear them off as soon as we finished cardio and do the rest of the class in socks !!!
It's such a shame. I've always loved the brand and so many of the participants ordered them and loved them, as well. These shoes LOOK good and the cushioning feels good, but.....I guess after three unhappy experiences, I'll try another brand.
